In LPI, on September 24, LPI director Nikolay Kolachevsky and scientific leaders of LPI space projects held a meeting with the delegation of the Italian Space Agency (ASI) headed by the ASI President Professor R. Battiston. They discussed about the Russian-Italian projects PAMELA, GAMMA-400, and Millimetron. The Italian delegation confirmed the importance to continue joint activities in the framework of PAMELA and move to the next stage of cooperation in the new projects GAMMA-400 and Millimetron.

In Italy, in Rome, in the Italian Space Agency, on July 23, the meeting was held between representatives of the Italian Space Agency (ASI), the Russian Space Agency (Roscosmos), the National Institute for Nuclear Physics (INFN), and LPI dedicated to the conclusion of agreement between the agencies on the projects GAMMA-400 and Millimetron. The ASI President R. Battiston personally greeted and wished success to the participants of the meeting. As a result of the meeting, the protocol was signed, which indicates support from agencies of the GAMMA-400 project and the preparation for the signing in the nearest time the official agreements between agencies, as well as between INFN and LPI on the GAMMA-400 project.

In the Abdus Salam International Center for Theoretical Physics (ICTP),Trieste, Italy, on May 2-4, the Workshop «Physics with GAMMA-400» was held. The specialists from Italy, Russia, France, Sweden, Spain, and Japan were taken part in this workshop. Following aspects were discussed: scientific problems of the GAMMA-400 experiment in the gamma-ray astronomy, studying electrons, positrons, nuclei of cosmic rays, the GAMMA-400 physical scheme, the status of the GAMMA-400 space and scientific complexes, as well as the GAMMA-400 detector systems, simulation results, plans of nearest works.

The Government of the Russian Federation approved the Russian State Program "Space activities in Russia for 2013-2020". The Program defines the goals and objectives of the development of space activities and space industry until 2020. This includes the creation of three planned space-based observatories "Spectrum-UV", "Spectrum-M" ("Millimetron"), and "GAMMA-400" to study astrophysical objects in different parts of the electromagnetic spectrum and the high-energy gamma radiation.

In the Russian Space Agency, on December 20, the Scientific and Technical Board on the GAMMA-400 project was held. It was noted that the GAMMA-400 project is of great interest in the scientific community, because designed gamma-ray telescope will have the improved parameters in comparison with the current space telescopes AGILE and Fermi. In general, the results of works were approved and it was recommended for further stage to realize the technical design. It is necessary to expand the Russian and international cooperation.
